“We came to Stemly in February with a student (our son, a high school sophomore) severely struggling in Alg 2. He was out most of January due to illness and had a lot of learning to catch up on. Working with Madeline, usually to review before a test, his grades (Ds and Fs) quickly improved, culminating with an A on the final and a B in the class. Madeline is an excellent tutor. “My 16 year old let me know that he needed help with his AP Chemistry class and I went online to find a tutor. I contacted a few tutoring agencies. However, after speaking with Alexa, I felt we found the right one! Stemly is a great find because Alexa explained the enrollment process and what Stemly has to offer without the added pressure to enroll. Daniel is the assigned AP Chem tutor and he is very knowledgeable on the subject and provides a follow up email explaining what was covered in the tutoring session and plans for the next session. Stemly also provided a progress report meeting in which we discussed the current tutoring plan and we had the opportunity to make changes to best meet my son’s needs. Working with Alexa at Stemly has been a fantastic choice for getting a one-one-one tutor for our daughter. Our daughter has been doing Kumon for years which has worked out great until now, but this year she fell behind and the Kumon lessons were not at the level where she currently was in her high school math course. Our daughter met with the class teacher between sessions and attended an on-campus peer-to-peer tutoring session, but still didn’t quite get it. After getting a 50% & 60% on a quiz, we knew we had to do something, and fast. Luckily, we discovered Stemly through her school emails and immediately inquired on our options for helping our daughter improve her geometry/ trigonometry grades this semester. Since signing-up and making the investment in our kid’s math skills, we’ve witnessed her gain massive momentum in understanding the fundamentals that she could build upon throughout the semester. As a result, our daughter went from struggling to keep up to making tremendous progress and drastically raising her test scores in just a couple of sessions. Thanks to her tutor, Bre (an PhD candidate :-), her understanding of the class topics instantly improved, she felt more confident in navigating the course, and now she never hesitates to ask a question if she needs a little more help expanding on the topic she didn’t quite understand. Furthermore, Bre is fantastic and they really made a connection that inspired our kid not only in math, but in the pursuit of higher education. When my teenage daughter started with Stemly in November 2022, she was on the verge of failing Pre-Calculus. My daughter was resistant to tutoring and I was concerned that online tutoring might not be effective. I was wrong. After one session, my daughter thanked me for getting her a tutor. Working diligently with her tutor, Kisha, my daughter learned a semester of Pre-Calculus in less than 4 weeks. She got an A+ on her final project and a B+ on her cumulative exam. But more important than raising her grade, Stemly restored my daughter's confidence, and she enjoys math again!

“My daughter was struggling in AP Physics. After speaking with several companies the choice to go with Stemly was easy and obvious.
FIRST: great communication. responded quickly to my request for information- Text, email and landed on the phone with Alexa quickly.
SECOND: Love the staff. Love the fact that for my daughter there were qualified, educated tutors who are women in STEM. (role models!). These are all subject matter experts, who are also really good tutors.
THIRD: The interface for tutoring is excellent. Online, scheduling is a breeze and my daughter finds it great to interact, ask questions and review topics.
FOURTH: Our Tutor (Meg) is outstanding. Knowledgeable in the subject area and displays great intuition of what is hindering the learning
FIFTH: Communication. I know I said this already- but lesson reminders, lesson notes to the parent allows me to have a view of how the tutoring is going- without the inevitable 'good' or 'fine' from my teenager.
