Area of Expertise: Biology and Physics

Darleen is a passionate and thoughtful tutor with years of experience helping high school students succeed in biology and physics. She creates a supportive learning environment where students feel confident, curious, and capable. Darleen believes that the best learning happens when students take ownership of their education, and she works closely with them to build the skills they need to reach their goals, both inside and outside the classroom.

Her tutoring style focuses on more than just learning the facts. She helps students develop strong study habits, problem-solving skills, and the ability to think about their own thinking. Whether they’re preparing for an upcoming test or trying to better understand science concepts, Darleen tailors each session to the student’s needs. Her calm and encouraging approach helps students feel comfortable asking questions and growing at their own pace.

Darleen has taught biology and physics for the past six years and also offers after-school tutoring sessions to support students with classwork, study strategies, and long-term learning skills. She’s especially passionate about making education more fair and accessible for all students, and her future research will focus on helping students in underserved schools become stronger, more confident learners.

When she’s not teaching or tutoring, Darleen enjoys exploring new foods, watching TV shows, and playing video games. She brings the same curiosity and joy into her lessons, helping students connect with science in ways that feel fun, meaningful, and real.

Darleen is more than just a tutor—she’s a dedicated mentor who takes the time to truly understand each student’s needs. With a caring and thoughtful approach, she helps students build confidence, develop strong learning habits, and reach their full potential. Her support goes beyond academics—she’s genuinely invested in each student’s success and growth, both in school and in life.
